Who Are We

Mulata is a Peruvian fashion brand born from weaving, time, and processes made with intention.

From the very beginning, we have understood fashion as a conscious act a way of creating without haste, respecting human rhythms and the materials we work with.

We are not driven by trends. We are driven by process.

Mulata started nine years ago as a project guided by curiosity, care, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. That curiosity took shape when Kiara first encountered the quiet power of Peruvian weavers and the knowledge held in their hands.

Creating slowly was never a limitation. It was always a choice.

How We Create at Mulata

Each Mulata piece is the result of a careful process, from design to the final stitch.

In Peru, weaving is more than a technique it is a language shaped over time. It is knowledge passed down within families, shared between mothers, daughters, and grandmothers, and practiced as part of everyday life, not as a hobby.

Exploring stitches and creating complex structures is a natural part of this textile culture. From ancient civilizations along the coast to the Andes, weaving has long been a form of expression, identity, and devotion.

Every garment takes over ten days to create, handcrafted stitch by stitch by skilled artisans. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is mass-produced. The time invested is not a cost; it is part of the design.

Today, we work closely with more than 20 artisans, supporting traditional techniques while translating them into contemporary garments.

We create pieces meant to be worn, repeated, and kept garments that carry meaning and exist beyond seasons.

Our Vision of Conscious Fashion

We believe sustainability is not defined by a single material, label, or trend.

Conscious fashion is the sum of decisions made throughout the entire process from design and production to scale, longevity, and purpose.

At Mulata, we question the logic of constant novelty and accelerated consumption. We choose to work in small quantities, valuing balance over excess and continuity over speed. Our focus is not on producing more, but on producing with clarity.

Materials are selected for their durability, tactility, and ability to age well. Design is approached with long-term thinking, creating garments meant to be worn, repeated, and cared for beyond a single season.

We do not believe in sustainable perfection.
We believe in responsibility, informed choices, and continuous improvement.

Fashion, for us, is not about keeping up.

It is about slowing down enough to create meaning.

Beyond seasons. Beyond trends.
